Speaker Cables & Accessories

I’ll never forget the sound of my favorite classic rock album turning into a muffled, distorted mess just as the sun was setting on my first backyard BBQ. I had spent all weekend mounting beautiful weather-resistant speakers, only to realize I’d made a rookie mistake: I used the same thin leftovers I had in my […]

I’ll never forget the evening I finally finished cable-managing my entire media hub. I had everything perfectly tucked away, but when I fired up the system, the sound stage felt collapsed. My floorstanding speakers sounded boomy and thin at the same time. I spent three hours checking my av receiver settings before I realized the […]

I sat on my living room floor three years ago, surrounded by a tangled mess of what looked like industrial power cables. I had just bought my dream home speakers and a shiny new power amp, and the guy at the store convinced me that anything less than 12-gauge wire would “choke” my sound. I […]

I was standing there, sweat dripping off my forehead, holding a spool of what looked like heavy-duty garden hose but was actually premium 12-gauge speaker wire. I had just finished setting up a brand-new pair of floorstanding speakers, and the sound was incredible, but the floor looked like a construction zone. My wife walked in, […]

I’ll never forget the sinking feeling in my gut when I peeled back the fancy braided jacket of my ‘bargain’ high-end speaker cables and found shiny, brittle aluminum underneath. I’d spent weeks researching the perfect setup, only to be tripped up by a couple of yards of fake copper. It happens to the best of […]
